Your Practice is Their Practice
Yoga changed your life. Maybe it helped you manage anxiety. Maybe it gave you community. Maybe it rescued your back from years of desk work. Maybe it simply gave you an hour of peace in a noisy world.
Now imagine giving that gift to someone you love.
"The greatest gift you can give someone is the space to be their authentic self." — Glennon Doyle
Why Refer a Friend?
For Them
- A safe introduction — they'll feel welcome from the moment they walk in
- A familiar face — starting anything new is easier with a friend
- Expert guidance — our classes cater to all levels with modifications always offered
- Physical benefits — flexibility, strength, and reduced pain from day one
- Mental health support — yoga is evidence-based stress reduction
For You
- Deeper connection — sharing an experience strengthens relationships
- Accountability — you're more likely to show up when someone's counting on you
- The joy of giving — watching someone discover yoga is genuinely wonderful
- Community building — you're helping grow something meaningful
For Everyone
Studies show that group exercise produces higher endorphin levels than solo workouts. When you bring a friend, you amplify the benefit for both of you.
How to Invite Someone Who's Never Tried Yoga
Step 1: Listen, Don't Sell
Pay attention to what they're struggling with:
- "My back is killing me" → "Yoga sorted my back out — want to try a gentle class?"
- "I'm so stressed" → "I find yoga helps more than anything. Come with me next week?"
- "I can't even touch my toes" → "That's exactly why you should come. I couldn't either."
Step 2: Pick the Right Class
Not every class is right for a first-timer. Our recommendations:
| Class | Best For Beginners? | Why? |
|---|---|---|
| Breath and Flow | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | Gentle pace, all-levels, great teacher guidance |
| Yin Yang | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ | Slow holds, deeply relaxing, accessible |
| Mindful, We Flow | ⭐⭐⭐ | Beautiful class, moderate pace |
| Stop, Drop, Flow | ⭐⭐ | More dynamic — great once comfortable |
For absolute beginners, Breath and Flow is the perfect entry point. Read our guide on 5 reasons to start your yoga journey to share with them.
Step 3: Manage Expectations
Tell them:
- "You don't need to be flexible" — flexibility is a result of yoga, not a requirement
- "Nobody's watching you" — everyone is focused on their own practice
- "The teacher will help you" — modifications are always available
- "It ends with a sound bath" — that usually seals the deal
Step 4: Go Together
Offer to attend the same class. Arrive 10 minutes early so they can settle in. Introduce them to the teacher. Then let the experience speak for itself.
Consider trying partner yoga together for an even more connected experience.
First-Timer Stories
Rachel & Lisa
"Lisa had been telling me about her yoga classes for months. I kept saying I was too unfit. She finally just booked us both in. I've now done 30 classes and I'm addicted."
James & Marcus
"My mate Marcus thought yoga was 'just stretching.' One vinyasa class later and he was drenched in sweat saying 'I had no idea.'"
Emma & Her Mum
"I brought my mum as a birthday present. She cried during the sound bath. She now comes every week on her own."

The Ripple Effect
Every person you bring to the mat creates a ripple. They tell a colleague. That colleague tells a partner. A family starts practising together. A community grows.
This is how yoga works. One person, one breath, one class at a time.
