The Seven Energy Centres
Chakra meditation is one of yoga's most powerful inner practices. The word chakra means "wheel" in Sanskrit — seven energy centres along the spine.
In yoga's philosophical tradition, chakras are part of the larger path described in the Eight Limbs of Yoga.
The Seven Chakras
1. Root (Muladhara)
Red | Base of spine | Grounding, security. "I am safe. I am grounded."
2. Sacral (Svadhisthana)
Orange | Below navel | Creativity, emotion. "I create. I feel. I flow."
3. Solar Plexus (Manipura)
Yellow | Stomach | Confidence, power. "I am powerful. I am worthy."
4. Heart (Anahata)
Green | Chest | Love, compassion. "I love. I am loved."
5. Throat (Vishuddha)
Blue | Throat | Communication, truth. "I speak my truth."
6. Third Eye (Ajna)
Indigo | Between brows | Intuition. "I see clearly. I trust my intuition."
7. Crown (Sahasrara)
Violet | Top of head | Spiritual connection. "I am connected to all that is."
A Complete Chakra Meditation (15–20 min)
